NRITYA DHRUPADI MUSIC AND DANCE RESEARCH CENTRE is a Kathak and Bharatnatyam Institution, registered under the Government of India. This institution was established in 2003 by Dr. Sucharita Datta Ghata, who is presently the director of our Institution. We are affiliated under Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, and students actively appear for the diploma exam in Dance from this Centre every year. Our institution is a sanctuary for the timeless art of Indian classical dance. Rooted in tradition and guided by passion, our institute is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich legacy of India’s age-old dance forms. At Nritya Dhrupadi, we nurture the spirit of classical expression while encouraging disciplined practice and artistic exploration. Through rigorous training, cultural research, and performance, we strive to pass on the profound heritage of classical dance to the next generation, keeping alive the soul of an eternal tradition.
Our focus includes the rhythmic complexity of Kathak, the sculptural grace of Bharatanatyam, and core principles of the Nātya Śāstra—from rasa theory to abhinaya, uniting movement, music, and meaning. We delve into the intricate footwork and graceful spins of Kathak, and the stylized precision and expressive storytelling of Bharatanatyam, celebrating their spiritual depth and technical brilliance as we train students to embody these classical forms with authenticity and devotion.
